Today, the ISOC Uganda Chapter joins the rest of the world to celebrate the International Internet Day. The day is globally celebrated every year on 29th of October to commemorate a momentous day when the first electronic message was transmitted from one computer to another. It’s thus celebrated to appreciate the power of the internet in our lives.
The theme this year is to “Keep the Internet Open”. Read more here on the value of an open internet.
The Chapter is holding a whole day twitter chat on “How the internet has impacted your life”. We would like to hear your experience in using the internet, challenges faced while using the internet and opportunities to improve internet use in Uganda.
We are using the hashtag #InternetdayUganda #InternetDay.
Chats will be summarised and will feed into discussions at the Uganda IGF next month.
