Tomorrow (10 February 2015) is Safer Internet Day (SID), which is organised by Insafe to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. The strapline for the campaign is ‘Let’s create a better Internet together”.
Internet Society Uganda Chapter (ISOC-UG) is joining other countries and organisations to celebrate SID 2015. A Twitter chat will be hosted by the chapter; You are invited to participate in the discussion by tweeting, answering questions and engaging with the wider SID community. ISOC-UG is joining hands with Collaboration on International ICT Policy in East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) to make this discussion happen.
Issues to be discussed include: safety online practices, whose role it is to protect children online, tools for safety online, privacy, data encryption, Internet Freedom and other interesting topics. The Child Online Protection (COP) toolkit that was developed by the chapter last year following the COP project will also be shared.
