ICANN68 Readout Webinar

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names And Numbers (ICANN) holds periodic public meetings three times a year and these meetings are rotated between continents for the purpose of encouraging global participation in its processes. These meetings have been central  to ICANN since its formation in 1998.

The ICANN public meetings provide an opportunity to solve the issues facing our communities head on and every meeting is a chance for stakeholders in the internet ecosystem to  find new creative ways to work together.

This ICANN68 policy forum took place 22-25 June 2020 and some of the topics discussed included – EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), New generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures, Universal Acceptance, DNS Abuse, DNS and the Internet of things and how to advance policy work amidst the pandemic.

The Internet Society Uganda Chapter will be hosting a readout session to provide an opportunity for the community to learn and deliberate on some of the topics discussed in the ICANN68 policy forum.
