This year, to commemorate #WomensDay in #Uganda, the Internet Society Uganda Chapter in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Kampala, Makerere University School of Women and Gender Studies, Wikimedia Uganda to hold WikiGap Kampala 2019.
Together, we shall host an edit-a-thon on Women’s Day at the Makerere University Library, to increase the number of articles written by women, about women on #Wikipedia.
The edit-a-thon aims to profile prominent Ugandan women in various areas who do not have a Wikipedia page yet, and to update the profiles of those who do. We shall continue to contribute to decreasing the online #GenderGap by including more articles featuring #Ugandan women on Wikipedia.

Time: 9.00am to 4.00pm
First organised in March 2018, WikiGap is an international event that happens simultaneously in more than 40 countries in the world to celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March. The event aims contribute to close the gender gap and other gaps relevant for diversity of Wikipedia.
Registration is open for participants from all sectors especially encouraging female participants to join us!
